Galatians 3:1-6

  1. They had not received the Holy Spirit by obeying the Jewish Law.
  2. They began their Christian lives in the power of the Spirit, they should also grow by the Spirit’s power.
  3. We grow spiritually because of God’s work in us by His Spirit, not by human efforts.
  4. While certain disciplines help us grow (Bible Study, Prayer, Service), they must not take the place of the Holy Spirit.
  5. Real children of Abraham are those who have faith, not those who keep the law.
  6. Abraham himself was saved by his faith.
  7. When the gospel is preached, the Spirit of God works in people’s hearts to bring them to faith.
  8. Being a Christian starts and continues as a matter of faith

Galatians 3:7-14

  1. God only requires us to accept Christ’s death on our behalf as the means to being saved.
  2. That in Christ Jesus, the blessing of Abraham might also come to the Gentiles, so that we would all receive the promises of the Holy Spirit by faith.
  3. God saved Abraham through his faith and blessed the world through Abraham by sending Jesus, the Messiah
  4. The greatest blessing of all is that through Abram’s family tree, Jesus Christ was born to save humanity. Through Christ, people can have a personal relationship with God and be blessed beyond measure.
  5. The cross of Jesus and the gift of the Spirit mean that God has dealt with the problem that stood in the way of the blessing reaching out into the world.
