About Us

In the Summer of 1974, pressure came and Apostle Helen Smith left Cainhoy to go to Summerville.  Through the efforts of Doris Haynes, Martha Haynes, Jessie Summers, Luvenia Cordes and children, Mother Mollie McDuffie, Janice Elmore and Bluetta, the Summerville Miracle Revival Center was founded.  Janice and others found “the Little Red Barn” so Apostle Smith sent Janet Phoenix and JoAnn Holloway to have Bible Studies with the Young People.

Then, God spoke to Apostle Smith’s heart and told her to go to Summerville.  She did.  Elder Ronald Anderson was pastoring the Cainhoy Miracle Revival Center at that time. The Little Red Barn was filled to capacity.  Half of the congregation was in the Church yard, while the other half was in the little building.  God was moving greatly and all sorts of miracles were performed.

Prayer continued because the Saints at Summerville knew God wanted them to have a Church.  As a result, they searched for land.  God spoke to them and they found land in front of the Masonic Temple in Summerville.  Many sacrifices were made to purchase the land.

After purchasing the land, Brother Larry Brown and his wife Sandra, decided they would pay the mortgage, while others worked to build the Church.  God gave Apostle Smith the design for the church.

During the dedication of the land, as Apostle Smith proceeded with the ground breaking; as she placed her foot on the shovel, God spoke to her and said, Larry will pastor this Church. At this time, Larry Brown was just beginning his deaconship.  He also revealed to Apostle Smith how His glory and might was over that building.

Apostle Smith did not tell anyone about what had spoken to her, except Larry Brown.  She told him not to tell anyone.

There were many strange and unusual events that happened after that.  Larry Brown and his family were transferred to McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey.  From there he and his family were stationed in Italy.  While there, their only son died.  As a result, he was transferred back to Charleston AFB, SC.

Cainhoy Miracle Revival Center was destroyed by fire and Apostle Smith had to return to Cainhoy to rebuild and pastor the church there.  God reaffirmed His promise; Larry would pastor Summerville Miracle Revival Center.  In April, 1980 the Summerville Miracle Revival Center was completed and a Dedicatory Service was held on Easter Sunday, with Pastor Larry Brown residing as the pastor.

We believe the Bible, the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, and are the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

God

We believe there is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three manifestations: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus

Christ We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and during this age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service. Man  Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

Salvation

We believe the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God. The Return of Jesus Christ  The personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our hope and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.

Future Events

We believe there will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.

Divine Healing

We believe in sanctification through the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit, and we believe in personal holiness, purity of heart and life.

The Church

We believe the true Church is composed of all such persons, who through saving faith in Jesus Christ, has been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head.

Baptism and Communion

We believe water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior, is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial service setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; all true believers and only believers should share in it.
